The Sutter Creek Cheese Shoppe was founded in June of 2010 by longtime Motherlode resident, Kathy Dawson, and Parisian cheese connoisseur, Sebastian Blanc.

In February of 2014, the Cheese Shoppe was purchased by Kim and Gary Miller as Kathy headed East to be with her young grandchildren.

Kim and Gary are also the proprietors of Miller Wine Works , founded in 2000. Gary s education at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, prepared him to work with the flavors and textures of California s pristine foodstuffs.  His vinous mission is to craft well-balanced, nuanced wines that speak clearly of their terroir and have an affinity for carefully raised and prepared food.

On August 1, 2015,  our tasting room, Miller Wine Works joined the cheese shop.  We are happy to offer our artisan wines for your enjoyment along with handcrafted cheeses from around the world.

Sutter Creek Cheese Shoppe is located in Sutter Creek, California in the historic Gold Country of the Sierra Foothills.
